portrait

This was taken a year ago. Last night I had a little play in photoshop with it.I don't usually use heavy photoshop on my photos because I prefer to keep my pictures looking as natural as possible, but actually I prefer this to the older version.Check out the other version here.

Day zero

This blog just isn't doing what I intended.I planned on posting a picture a day but lately i've had so much work i'm barely using my camera, hence all the old photos which I am so bored with.so i'm taking a break until I have some time and new shots to show...

Day 16

My kitchen doesn't look like this at the moment. It is buried under piles of stuff. I am working to a very tight deadline so am averaging 4-5 hours sleep a night juggling parenting and making.I'm looking forward to mid November when all will be much quieter...

Day 13

I missed Saturday! and it was the 13 th, which is one of my favourite numbers.I don't like the crop or the composition of this image, which is taken with a Holga converted to use 35mm, but her expression is appropriate!

Day 12

Not so long ago my shoes were too big for her feet. Now they are almost the same size.

Day 11

...and back to the old!
Finding it hard to write down words lately! Spending days sewing non-stop to meet a deadline and learning to say 'NO' to people.Have lots of polaroid film but am bored now of self portraits and taking pictures of my kids. Lots of ideas are floating around in my head but not getting out there. This is how good I want to be.When I have some money I want a canon film slr.

Day 9

Today I sold a print of this polaroid in my Etsy shop. This is one of my favorite shots. I took it with my polaroid 600SE in 2005.'Little Feet' was shortlisted for the BBC Website Photographer of the Year Award 2006.It has also been published by Schwarzefreitag in SHOT OF THE DAY Pocket Polaroids Series *003.

Day 6

I'm thinking about FILM all of the time. I have bought lots of polaroid film but its the holga i need to use...and I would write more but everyone is asleep or out and I have the tv remote to myself so need to take advantage...but go and see this, my favourites.

Day 5

I am always on the look out for beautiful light. The composition of this shot isn't as tidy or well balanced as I would like but it just works (for me, at the moment).I think this is my favourite shot of O (and there are quite a few shots, after all she has dominated my life for almost 11 years now).I didn't ask her to lie like that. She was lounging and I told her to keep still.

Thursday 11 September 2008

Day 4

fake ttv.I took this shot at a 60th Birthday party I was asked to photograph.
New shots coming soon. I have 9 packets of polaroid film to play with.waiting for flash bulbs and ND4 filter.
Also thinking a lot about shooting with film again.Have lots of ideas and a Holga.
